The History of Grace Lutheran Church

Grace Housing, Inc.

Grace Housing, Inc. (GHI) was established by the membership of the former Grace Lutheran Church of Santa Barbara. The non-profit was created to serve the greater Santa Barbara community in support of primary basic needs such as food, shelter, and housing for families and individuals. Grace Housing, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization registered in the State of California.

 

In keeping with the mission of GHI, Grace Villiage is an affordable senior housing development which will be built on land gifted to the City of Santa Barbara Housing Authority and California Lutheran Homes (CLH) by Grace Lutheran Church. GHI has establish a dedicated fund for supportive services to its residents.

As a distinct not-for-profit organization, Grace Housing, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors committed to the vision and mission of the organization.

Funding

Grace Housing, Inc. is funded primarily through leasehold agreements originally established decades ago by Grace Lutheran Church. Grace Housing, Inc. works closely with California Lutheran Homes in the monitoring of ongoing revenue streams generated from properties that were owned by the church and gifted to CLH. Grace Housing, Inc. is responsible for administering and distributing funds to the Legacy Plan recipients.

 

In addition, private contributions made to GHI help sustain and increase supportive funding of basic needs in the Santa Barbara community, thus continuing the Legacy of Grace Lutheran Church.

Grace Housing, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Tax I.D. 56-2545758 Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
